DEESA POT PTFE Bearing is a bearing which carries vertical load by compression on an elastomeric disc confined in a steel cylinder and which accommodates rotations by deformations of the disc. The Elastomer under a tri-axial pressure offers low resistance to deformation but high vertical stiffness.
Properties:
POT PTFE bearings are structural bearings which support vertical and horizontal loads and permit limited rotation around any horizontal axis and have therefore, an extremely wide range of applications. Fixed bearings provide restraint in all horizontal directions.
POT PTFE bearings are designed and manufactured in accordance with IRC recommendations and specific technical requirements of the consultants. With in-house design engineering, production and testing facilities, we can provide well designed fully assembled bridge bearings as per specifications. Every component is manufactured, moulded, mechanically worked and assembled in our factory under strict ISO 9001:2008 certified quality checks and standards.
Types of POT PTEE Bearing:
Guided POT Bearings: This bearing is with steel guide edge can be only moved in one direction. The stainless steel slide and PTFE slide further reduce the friction coefficient and guided POT bearing is used best when horizontal loads are relatively small (less than 20% of vertical Load). Two types of Guided POT PTFE Bearings are:
Longitudinal Guided POT PTFE Bearing (allows movement in Long direction)
Transverse Guided POT PTFE Bearing (allows movement in Trans direction)
Fixed POT Bearings: This bearing is unmoved in all directions. Under loads, the elastomeric bearing pad behaves likes an incompressible confined fluid which enables the rotations on any A fixed bearing is generally used for medium and large-sized shafts that can reach high temperatures during operation. It has to support radically the shaft assembly and to locate it axially in both directions.
Free Bearing (Free sliding POT bearing) : This Bearing can be movable in all directions. The added PTFE and stainless-steel sliding surface between the piston and the sole plate creates a bearing assembly that allows horizontal movement in any direction.
Advantages
The confined elastomeric pad acts like a fluid to distribute loads evenly, while the PTFE surface ensures low-friction movement.
Their robust construction minimises maintenance and ensures reliable long-term performance even in harsh environmental conditions.
They are designed and manufactured to be neatly maintenance-free, although the surrounding area should always be kept clean and dry to prevent damage.
Usage:
POT-PTFE bearings are used on railway bridges to transfer loads from the deck to the substructure while accommodating necessary movements.
Used in bridges having heavy and longer spans.
Bridges such as Box Girder, Truss, Arch, Cable Stayed, Flyovers, Grade Separators, Aqueducts etc.
Other structures: Barrages, Pipelines Support Structures, Multistoried Buildings, Thermal Power Stations, Atomic Reactors, Auditoriums, Chimneys, Foundations of Heavy Machines, Large Pressure Vessels, Large Storage Tanks, Gantry Supports, Off Shore Platforms, Turn Tables etc.
